Course Outline
National Distributors offers an Eight (8) Week Advanced Training Program for CDL A School graduates. This Advanced Training begins at the Clarksville Indiana Training Facility for weeks 1 and 2. Week one consists of classroom training learning about National Distributors policies, procedures, as well as, additional log book training. The second week of training is held in the Clarksville yard enhancing backing and driving skills.
After successful completion of the first two weeks, trainees will be assigned an Over the Road Trainer who will give them valuable road experience and training they need to succeed in the Trucking Industry. The trainee is out on the road for 6 weeks, typically 2 weeks at a time, actually delivering freight with the trainer.
Once the trainees have completed 6 weeks on the road training they will then start the testing out process. They will return to the Clarksville Training Facility where they will spend 2-3 days finishing up the training process. Upon successfully completing the testing out process, trainees are either upgraded to 1st seat drivers or upgraded to 2nd seat drivers. 1st Seat drivers are assigned their own trucks while 2nd seat drivers are placed in a team operation to receive more on the road experience until they reach 1st seat capabilities.
